The successful candidate will have a passion for support and will be expected to present and implement new ideas for systems and applications improvements. Reporting to the Production Systems Manager, the DBA is expected not only to organize day to day support activities but to take responsibility for critical internal applications including third party applications. The DBA will work closely with the infrastructure and development teams along with QA engineers and key business users.
Responsibilities: Monitoring and maintaining all databases including troubleshooting development, test and production database issues. Performing data loads and database refreshes. Handling database design, performance tuning, schema change management and security setup for all database servers including Oracle, SQL Server and some MySQL. Providing second and third line support for third party SQL Server based applications.

Requirements:
Qualifications: IT Professional with 8+ years industry experience DBA with minimum 5 years experience managing an Oracle environment o Experience administering Oracle 10g and 11i databases o Strong hands-on aptitude in performing administration functions such as installations and configurations, creating databases and schemas, backups, exports, imports and restores, and database migrations o Skilled with automating tasks, scheduling and monitoring jobs, connectivity troubleshooting and server/DB security Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Application/Database design and troubleshooting experience o Working knowledge of application development and support processes o Understanding of ODBC/JDBC as it relates to databases o History of supporting internal and third party applications Experience in database optimization and performance tuning including: o Strong SQL, PL-SQL, T-SQL and SSIS query writing skills o Index creation and rebuilds o Triggers, views and stored procedures o Database linking Demonstrated Linux/Unix administration experience Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems, particularly Windows Server 2008. Hands-on experience with database clustering and/or log shipping technologies
